Great post!!! I’ve been a member of the support staff in a couple of firms and it’s without exception a team effort in law offices, but lawyers rarely give anyone else their due. I hope someday things change.

Well, I know of one firm that is the exception to your rule and it has been listing all members of the team for years: http://www.mbm.com/people/officeop.html (including the support staff).

Excellent post, Jordan. This is something I kept meaning to write about — and failing. From the perspective of Slaw, I know how hard it is to find contact (or any) information on librarians and, sometimes, research lawyers. Shame on the website committees.

Agreed.

However, if you can’t find information for the Director of Student Recruitment, you’re just not trying very hard. This person’s name is always under the Careers/Join Our Firm/Students link, because prospective summer and articling students need to know whom to contact when applying.
