I suspect that for many years now there have been many people in all of the institutions involved that share these views, yet nothing has changed.

If a law school changes its admissions policy so that its students come in with notably lower GPAs and LSAT scores than other schools, will firms hire that school's graduates?

How will the law schools get professors who know how to holistically teach core skills?

How will professors manage the time burden of their research responsibilities along with learning an entirely new way to teach topics that have not been formally taught before, and then doing that teaching with ongoing evaluation of students rather than 100% finals?

In the firms, how do you get people who rose to the top without mentorship to value mentorship and reward others in the firm for being mentors?

For any of the institutions to change, they will need to find ways to finance the initial costs and there has to be dialoge between the people who hire lawyers, the people who educate them and the people who accredit them that changes will be supported.

Man, did I love reading this post. I have had this conversation with Bar leaders in my state. This is beautifully written. I will be sending this off to a few dozen people.
