Jordan, well done.

Beyond that, you have plainly set a new world's record for most hyperlinks in a single post.

Thanks for the mention, as well.

Thoroughly enjoyable to read and liked the choice of structural metaphor.

I agree with your views on the future of the traditional or dead tree press. I don't see if disappearing; but they are not enjoying the readership of income generation of previous times.

The blawgosphere is developing nicely. I thought that twitter may impact - but save for the fact that one tends to get more comments about a blog post on twitter than on the blog, I detect a growth in serious blogs and also in the rather 'specialised field' serious blogs pretending not to be serious!

Political blogs in the Uk are extremely important - witness the resignation of Gordon brown's closest political adviser this weekend - brought down as a result of his smear campaign being rumbled by polblogger Guido Fawkes. The newspapers were way behind the curve on this.

Witness also, in the UK at least, the influence of political and legal blogggers on the coverage of the death of Ian Tomlinson at g20. I took time away from my case of wine to do a serious post and had visitors running into five figures just for that post.

I see law publishing changing in the near to medium term future and I am fairly sure that l;egal writers, academic and practitioner - and the more journalistically inclined bloggers will be part of this.

Thought provoking stuff, Jordan - and a pleasure on Easter Monday to read. Thanks also for making reference to my Cartolina Dal Vaticano and my trip to Rome to see my cousin Cardinal Charoni di Tempranillo. I fear that my effort may lower the tone of your excellent review....

Jordan -

Nice work.

I am cautious about equating blogging with journalism. Very few bloggers keep a balanced perspective. We do not have editors to report to (I could use an editor for my spelling and grammar.)

Of course the "mainstream media" is not impartial either. It is always interesting to see a story on FOX and compare the coverage to NPR.

There is a tremendous amount of information being produced. The challenge is what to do with it and how to make money from it.
