I provide consulting services to law firms and legal organizations in association with two great consulting teams.

As a partner with Edge International, I provide strategic planning and practice management advice. My particular focus is on the extraordinary changes now taking place in the legal profession and how law firms and legal organizations can position themselves to take advantage of these changes. Advisory subjects include billing methodologies, lawyer training, law firm marketing and business development, professional governance strategies, and finding innovative solutions to traditional lawyer challenges. My partners in Edge International are two of the world’s premier legal consultants, Gerry Riskin and Robert Millard.

As a senior consultant with Stem Legal and head of our forthcoming Media Strategy Service, I provide media and communications consulting to law firms and legal organizations. I advise law firms on optimizing their media relations and revamping communications with clients, staff, and the legal services marketplace.  Advisory subjects include website analysis, blog creation and operation, social networking, media training, and communications strategies generally. My colleagues within Stem Legal include founder Steve Matthews, one of the legal web’s most insightful analysts and most innovative thinkers.

I also deliver presentations to both public and private audiences on current and future trends in the legal services marketplace. Past and planned speaking engagements include events sponsored by the American Bar Association’s Bar Leaders Institute, the National Association of Law Placement, the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Chief Justice’s Colloquium on Professionalism, the Isaac Pitblado Lectures, and a Symposium on Law Firm Evolution at Georgetown University’s Center for the Study of the Legal Profession.
